Coming from humble beginnings, she sang her first solo in church then moved to theatre production. Minda has been singing a wide variety of music from before she can remember. Her vibe is energy….energy and more energy. Minda Scrogan’s vocal range can go from soft lullaby to “get out of your chair” and dance!
Her experience has been honed from singing in a variety of local Atlanta bands….Rock, R&B, Blues, Jazz, Reggae, Funk. You can catch Minda perform throughout Atlanta with Steppin Stones, Far Out Cats and of course Blue Velvet Atlanta.

Kathie Holmes

Kathie Holmes grew up in Atlanta studying classical music and has a Bachelor’s degree in classical piano and flute performance. Her world changed when she went to her first blues jam and discovered the joy of improvising music straight from the soul.
She is often invited to play with prominent musicians to see what magic can be created with each new show.
She performs at festivals and clubs throughout the Southeast as a member of several blues, Americana, rock, and funk bands and is an in-demand artist for recording sessions. Kathie is a Regional Coordinator for the Nashville Songwriters Association International and her CD Trouble Comes in Threes showcases her songwriting, singing, and instrumental skills.

Sandra Senn

Drummer

Sandra Senn has been playing drums and percussion since 2006, introduced to the music scene at the
blues jams around Atlanta. She quickly learned she had talent finding the groove and started taking
lessons in 2007.
Since then she has played with multiple bands of different genres. Currently she is the drummer for
the bands Blue Velvet Atlanta, The Roger Hurricane Wilson Trio, and Bill Sheffield’s Band du Jour.
Sandra is also part of the Thursday night house band at Cajun Blues and runs the jams there. She
also sits in with several original music projects including the Jeff Evans Porkestra and Delta8 Groove.

Johanna Millin

Rhythm/Lead Guitar Backing Vocals

Influenced by the multicultural sounds of NYC, where she grew up, Johanna Millin’s guitar can go
from smooth R&B, groove-dancing funk to high energy rock. Vocal harmonies?? Yes! She adds them when needed. Next came playing blues covers with the band Broke on Monday. In 2019 had the opportunity to play with the Jess Goggans Band throughout the southeast. 2023 offered another opportunity to play blues with Sweet Melissa’s Blues Revue. As fate would have it, Sandra met  Johanna at a jam, which later led to Sandra asking Johanna to join Blue Velvet Atlanta.
Johanna's current duties are: lead guitarist for
Heartisans Atlanta, a Heart Tribute band, rhythm and lead guitarist for Sweet Melissa’s Blues Revue. and of course rhythm/lead guitarist for Blue Velvet Atlanta.
“Engaging the audience is my job”…Johanna wants
everyone to have a good time.

Cindy Adler

Bassist

It’s all about the bass and there’s plenty of rhythm in this rhythm section with Cindy taking on the task. You’ll go from foot tapping to rockin’ in my chair to get up and dance as she lays down lines that will make you want to get our of your chair.
As a third grader listening to a high school jazz band, Cindy felt the thump of the bass in her chest and knew that’s what she wanted to play. She learned the ropes by playing in high school and college jazz bands. It was after moving to Atlanta that she ventured into blues, R&B, funk, and southern rock playing with Hoodoo Blue, Donna Hopkins, Diane Durrett, Delta Moon, and Big Bill Morganfield. Cindy currently plays with Blue Velvet Atlanta and Bill Sheffield’s Band du Jour.

Animal

Large & In Charge

The most well rounded musician in the group, Animal keeps everyone on task. He doesn't really say much ....it's Animal.
